windfall: a sudden, unexpected piece of good fortune

Jacqueline Kennedy came to be First Lady in 1960, when I was ten years old. There are a lot of
cliches that have been cycled and recycled about her, but I like to think that she was a breath of
fresh air after Mamie Eisenhower. Jacqueline became my role model when I heard that she
traveled to Spain and France with her husband and addressed the crowds in Spanish and French. So that's what they taught you in boarding school. Then when I read that she was able
to charm our arch-enemy, Kruschev, well, that was it. I loved this lady with the soft voice who wore these amazing new designer clothes, so uncluttered, with pill box hats.
